Due to the increase of the sea level, the decrease of power and the increase of the exhaust temperature, the user's ability to work on the plateau should be taken into consideration when the diesel engine is selected, so as to avoid overload operation.

It has been proved by experiments in recent years that the turbocharged diesel engine can be used as the power compensation of the plateau. The lack of turbocharger can not only compensate for the plateau power, can also improve the smoke and restore power performance and reduce fuel consumption.

2) with increasing altitude, ambient temperature than the plain area to low, generally every 10OOm increase of environmental temperature will drop about 6 DEG C, and due to high altitude thin air, therefore, the starting performance of the diesel engine than the plain area. When making the user, the auxiliary starting measures should be adopted in accordance with the low temperature starting.

3) because of high altitude, the boiling point of water is reduced, and the cooling air pressure and cooling air quality decrease, and increase per kilowatt in unit time of heat, so the heat dissipation condition of cooling system than plain difference. Generally, it is not suitable to use open type Ling in high altitude area, but circulation closed cooling system can be adopted to improve the boiling point of cooling liquid when used in high altitude.
